Me in 10 seconds

I retired after 20 years in the Navy. I did my Fleet tour in the "Classic" Hornet and spent most of my career as an Adversary pilot, with a brief stop in the Pentagon.

Having never properly grown up. I now do basically the same job as a contractor

Online, I've often used the alter ego of potatowire, which I made up in the nineties when pseudonymity/anonymity was more the norm. I kept it up after that because it seemed like a good idea while still in the military. Below, I have included some to some old writing projects.

What now?

This site exists because of Derek Sivers . I'm working directly between p tags, and I've long used vim as a dilettante.

What next?

I have shamelessly stolen the sive.rs style here, but I will slowly make the design more my own. I have long admired Derek, however, so I am happy to make him my north star on the web.

I am going to bring my old writing here and will likely let the old domains lapse. I'm not sure the old stuff is even worth preserving, but it was me, on the path to who I am now.

I've been writing in my head every day since I last posted, but I think I need to actually publish to know what I think. This will be the home for that.
